Trim Levels (Exterior)
For the 2019 RAV4, Toyota has dropped the number of trim levels from six to five. Available trims include LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, and Limited. The base LE trim comes standard with cloth upholstery and the Entune infotainment system along with a 7-inch touch-screen display. The XLE trim includes the base trim's features and comes with additional safety features and a moonroof. With the XLE Premium trim, you attain a power liftgate and synthetic leather upholstery.
The Adventure trim includes an upgraded Entune system with an 8-inch touch-screen display. The top-of-the-line Limited trim includes heated front seats and navigation. You can upgrade this trim and get an 11-speaker JBL audio system and wireless device charging.
Engine (Power)
The standard engine on the 2019 RAV4 is a 203-horsepower four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Although not as powerful as others in its class, this engine works perfectly in getting you around town and traveling along the highway. All trims come with front-wheel drive, except for the Adventure trim, which comes standard with all-wheel drive.
Performance
Not including hybrids, the 2019 RAV attains one of the best fuel economy ratings in its class. According to Toyota, the crossover earns 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
Interior
One of the ways that Toyota revamped the RAV4 is by making noticeable changes to its interior quality. The cabin is sleek and clean and features numerous soft-touch materials. New standard features for the 2019 RAV4 include a larger infotainment system from 6.1 inches to 7 inches, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay connectivity. With the XLE trim, you get dual-zone automatic climate control, and you can add a Convenience package and receive a power-adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats.
The XLE Premium trim has a power-adjustable driver's seat, and with the Weather Grade package, you receive heated front seats and steering wheel. An upgraded Entune package includes an 11-speaker JBL audio system and 8-inch touch-screen display. The Adventure trim comes standard with satellite radio and HD radio, while the Limited trim has upgrades in its Grade Weather package that features heated rear seats and ventilated front seats.
Although the 2019 RAV4 doesn't offer as much cargo space as its previous model, this version does offer more space than many of its competitors. With the rear seats up, the crossover has 37.5 cubic feet of space. Once you fold down the seats, you garner 69.8 square feet of space.
Safety Features
The 2019 RAV4 includes two full sets of LATCH connectors for installing car seats. In addition, standard safety features include a rearview camera, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Available upgrades include front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, low-speed collision warning, and rear cross traffic braking.
